Traders call for Mapusa shutdown over arrears dispute

The traders are pressing for a written resolution from MLA Joshua D’Souza

The Mapusa Merchants’ Association has announced a market shutdown on Wednesday, April 8, in protest against the Mapusa Municipal Council. The agitation centres around retrospective arrears imposed on traders.

As part of the protest, traders will stage a march to the MMC office at 11 am. They are demanding a written resolution to the issue from Mapusa MLA Joshua D’Souza and the Chief Officer of the municipality.
