Only Goans truly understand Portuguese inquisition’s impact: CM Sawant

CM Pramod Sawant cited Goa’s 450-year Portuguese rule in Goa

Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant said that only Goans truly understand the impact of the Portuguese Inquisition, unlike people from other parts of India. He highlighted Goa's nearly 450-year association with Portuguese rule and said that many temples were destroyed during the period.

Recent archaeological findings at the Saptakoteshwar temple site have also been cited by Sawant in the context of Goa's heritage during Portuguese rule.
