The panchayat had issued show-cause notices to the scrap yard operators nearly six months ago over operating without trade licences and allegedly taking illegal electricity connections. Following complaints from residents about illegal activities at the scrap yards, the panchayat has now begun the demolition drive. This is the second time the demolition is being carried out.
