Dabolim MLA Mauvin Godinho recently met with the Central government, during which the issue of Dabolim airport was discussed.
“The airport is a symbol of Goa’s identity, and has been around from the time of the Portuguese,” says Fatorda MLA, Vijai Sardesai.
Sardesai said he had raised the issue during the Goa Legislative Assembly session in January 2026, following suggestions that the airport be dedicated exclusively to naval operations. At the time, Godinho had assured the House that both airports would be retained and upgraded, he added.
However, Sardesai alleged that Godinho has failed to uphold that assurance, is under pressure, and should resign.
