Goan nurse makes history; VNL Mhalkar earns PhD

Mhalkar is also the first male to achieve this distinction

Vithoba Laxmi Narayan Mhalkar, Associate Professor (DPN) at the Institute of Psychiatry & Human Behaviour, Bambolim, has been awarded a PhD in Nursing at Bharati Vidyapeeth, Pune. He is the first male and only the 2nd person from Goa to achieve this milestone. Notably, he is also the first Goan to complete all nursing degrees – GNM, BSc (N), MSc (N), MPhil (N) & PhD (N).
