Elephant Omkar causes havoc in Kadshi Mopa, damages vehicles

Early this morning, at around 6.30 am, elephant Omkar created chaos in Kadshi Mopa, damaging an Omni car (belonging to Umesh Shankar Gad) and a Fascino two-wheeler (owned by Gitesh Shetye).

The elephant entered residential areas after destroying farms, vandalising vehicles, and spreading panic among locals.

Omkar’s return sparks worry in Mopa

Earlier, news of the return of elephant Omkar to the Mopa region had raised fresh concerns, as the animal had been damaging cashew plantations. Forest officials from Maharashtra have been attempting to drive it back into Goa, but its repeated cross-border movement had alarmed farmers and highlighted coordination and safety concerns.
